Children in Gaza are growing up seeing life as an inescapable war. Those aged eight and over have already witnessed three huge military escalations.

Following the latest assault on the strip, it is estimated that 400,000 children now need direct psychological intervention.

Due to witnessing violence, the killing of loved ones or the destruction of homes, these children suffer mood disorders, anxiety, irritability and have problems with attachment.

'Mercy is only removed from the one who is destined for wretchedness.'

With the help of local partners, Ummah Welfare Trust plans to build a trauma centre in Northern Gaza, providing psycho-social support to children who need help.

Targeting children and adolescents, the centre will help relieve psychological stress and tension through individual and group counselling sessions.

Two hundred children (aged 5 -15 years) will be supported in this two-storey centre, which will be built on 300 square metres of land.

The cost of this building is approximately £210,000, and its annual running costs will be approximately £50,000 per year.

Donate for this centre and help heal the scars that have been inflicted on our young brothers and sisters. You can donate Sadaqah and Lillah for this appeal.
