FAMILY HEALTH MOBILE CLINIC
This is a project initiated by UWT in January 2009. The estimated annual budget for this project is £10,000 per mobile clinic team.
This project provides free medical treatment and medicine to needy people within villages throughout Burma. It comprises of a team of medical professionals that includes doctors, nurses and other staff for logistical purposes. The team undertakes a number of visits each week to a number of different locations. The team visits educational institutes and schools and provides much needed day to day care to the needy. Assessments are carried out on children that have proven to be extremely effective in identifying any diseases early which can then be treated to prevent further spread. Follow up visits are carried out regularly to ensure proscribed treatments are monitored.
Minor surgeries such as circumcisions are also performed.
This project has been extremely successful in providing free basic health care and advice to extremely poverty stricken regions within Burma.
Due to the success of this project 3 teams are currently in operation throughout various regions of Burma.
