In 2011, Libya underwent a massive political upheaval which led to the ousting of its four decades old totalitarian regime.

As the conflict intensified UWT responded by delivering food aid and medical supplies to those fleeing the fighting.

Most of the violence has now subsided allowing people to return to their homes. However there is still a need for vital medical equipment.

UWT has dispatched portable ventilator units to hospitals in Tripoli, Misrata and the Nafusa Mountains.

These are vital in coping with emergency situations where there is a sudden influx of casualties or perhaps a loss of power to hospitals.
