The Life of Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz

Ummah Welfare Trust brings you the life of the great grandson of ‘Umar ibn al Khattab radiyaAllahu’anh - ‘Umar ibn 'Abdul Aziz Rahmatullahi ‘alaih. The Mujaddid of the first century, Khalifa ‘Umar ibn ‘Abdul Aziz brought justice, piety and selflessness to the world at a time when it had become full of injustice.

It is narrated by Nafi', on the authority of 'Umar ibn al Khattab that he used to say:

"I wish I knew the man from among my own children with a mark in his face and with a good reputation and determination who would fill the world with justice after being filled with injustice and evil actions" -Ibn Sa'ad, at-Tabaqat

As a leader he revived the love for the akhirah and shunned the dunya; he made the welfare of the Muslims his priority; and he united the hearts of the people.

The leaders of justice are five: Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman, 'Ali and 'Umar ibn 'Abdul Aziz.”
    - Imam Sufyan al-Thawri
