    Ummah Welfare Trust (UWT) is currently scaling up its level of operations. The trust operates in 23 countries
    around the world, attempting to bring relief to those in poverty. To continue fulfilling this commitment, UWT
    requires a PR Manager who will help promote the charity’s aims and supplement its current growth.

    Job Requirements

    • The PR Manager is responsible for all of the charity’s PR output. This will involve Liaising with masjids for fundraising for the charity as well as providing feedback.
    • Organising regular meetings as well as developing long-term relationships with local Imams & committee members;
    • Looking to developing links and maintaining contacts with businesses,
    • Organising fundraising events and promoting the charity via advertisement in the media i.e. newspapers, radio etc;

    The post holder will also be expected to:

    • Develop a strong and effective volunteers network as well as look into opening or running existing UWT charity shops;
    • Liaise with all departments to ensure UWT’s PR output and fundraising activities is at a notably high standard;
    • Work within the spirit of UWT’s unique Islamic values and help continue to promote these.

    Job Specification

    The outstanding candidate:

    • Will be a self-motivated and hard-working individual who will need the flexibility to sometimes work outside standard hours;
    • Should have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and have considerable experience in leading and managing a team of dedicated staff;
    • Should be well connected and have good leadership skills to co-ordinate a large group of volunteers;
    • Will be skilled in building ties and relationships with key figures and individuals and maintaining these;
    • Should have the necessary qualifications (Islamic Studies graduate desirable) and a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a PR setting;
    • Importantly will identify with the charity’s unique Islamic principles and aims and help continue to promote these in this role.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Ability to speak publicly;
    • Organisational and IT skills necessary;
    • Knowledge of Urdu & Arabic desirable but not necessary;
    • Time management & Communication skills;
    • Hold a valid driving licence

    The charity is currently progressing fast and therefore needs a passionate and talented individual who
    understands the needs of UWT as challenges present themselves. They will maintain high standards of accuracy
    and transparency at all times and ultimately play a crucial role in ensuring UWT can continue to aid needy
    people around the world.

    Probationary Period

    The candidate will be offered a permanent contract subject to a successful initial three month probationary period.
