Winter Aid Kits

Families in the poorest areas of Gaza live in makeshift shacks and half-destroyed houses.  This has been the reality since the Israeli assault in 2009. Daily essentials such as water, gas or electricity are now just a dream. Winter months prove exceptionally difficult for these poor Gazans. Since they cannot afford a generator or the gas/oil on which it runs, they are forced to endure the winter months freezing and wet as the rain and winds pound their broken homes.

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri narrates that the Prophet Sallalahu alayhi wa sallam said:
“Whoever feeds a hungry believer will be fed by Allah on the Day of Judgement from the fruits of Paradise, and whoever quenches his thirst will have his thirst quenched from the Sealed Nectar, and whoever clothes him will be clothed from the green silk of Paradise.'
    (Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood and Ahmad)

UWT undertook a project over the recent winter months to provide blankets and winter clothing to the needy families of Gaza. By the grace of Allah, 465 families received warm winter clothing (jackets, sweaters, trousers and socks) and blankets in preparation for the winter.
The beneficiaries were grateful to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala for these items and hope UWT donors would continue to help them in their struggles.

Ibn Abbas related that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:
“Any Muslim who gives a Muslim a garment to wear will be in Allah's safekeeping as long as a shred of it remains on him.”
     (Ahmad, Tirmidhi)
