Ummah Welfare Trust (UWT), an international charity organisation registered in UK, will hand over the keys of newly constructed houses to the families of dwarves and a widow in a flood-affected area of Khyber Pakhtunkwa tomorrow (Sunday).

According to a press release issued here Friday, recent floods washed away their homes in Nowshera. Keeping in view the problems being faced by the widow and a family of dwarves, UWT Chairman Maulana Muhammad Idrees instructed the local office-bearers of the organisation to construct houses for them and ensure continued supply of ration as well as other domestic accessories. Following these instructions the construction of houses was launched on urgent basis, which would be handed over to the families during a ceremony being held tomorrow.

The family of dwarves included Bismillah Jan (42), his wife and children, Nauroz Khan (25) and Istikhara Bibi (22). Height of all the three brothers and sisters is around 2.5 feet while Bismillah Jan has two other normal children.

It also merits mentioning here that UWT has launched a project to construct 1,400 houses for flood victims while preferential treatment is being meted out to widows and orphans. Construction work of houses as well as mosques for flood victims is already underway. A large number of mosques were washed away during the floods that are being reconstructed and work on the remaining mosques will be launched soon.
