    Winter kits handed over to Afghan refugees

    PESHAWAR – The Ummah Welfare Trust (UWT) on Thursday distributed winter kits among 675 flood-affected Afghan refugee families currently staying at Aza Khel village in district Nowshera.

    The representatives of the trust distributed the kits containing three steel beds, three quilts, pillows, bed sheets and mattresses among 675 deluge-hit families at Aza Khel village. Besides men, a large number of kids and women were also present on the occasion.

    Speaking on the occasion, office bearer of the trust Syed Imran Shah highlighted aims and objectives of the trust and added that UWT would continue assisting people on humanitarian basis. He also extended sympathies to flood-affected people.

    He maintained, that trust had allocated Rs 50 million for the welfare of flood-affected people in Pakistan, adding not only this, the trust was also providing free medical treatment in different flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

    He called upon well off people to come forward and help hundreds of thousands of people at this critical stage as these families were passing through the hardest phase of their lives, he concluded.
