NOWSHERA: Cholera and other water borne diseases broke out in the outskirts of Akora Khattak due to non-availability of potable water and hygienic food in the area.

This was disclosed by a head of Physician team who arranged a weeklong free medical camp under the aegis of Ummah Welfare Trust while talking to local journalists here on Friday.

Over 8000 patients were treated at the camp, in which 5000 women and 1500 children were treated but most of the patients complained about the miserable and pathetic condition of public health centres in the province.

Chairman of the Trust, Maulana Muhammad Idris assured for more supply of doctors and medicines and expressed the hope that the camp would set up in other parts of the province as well.
