UWT allocates Rs50m for flood relief

    PESHAWAR: Chairman Ummah Welfare Trust (UWT) Maulana Muhammad Idrees has said his organisation has allocated Rs50 million for the welfare of flood-affected people.

    Maulana Idrees, during a distribution ceremony of the food packages among flood affected families in Sardaryab in Charsadda, said his organisation was serving humanity in 27 countries and added that the UWT was working without any political designs and free from any pressure.

    The food packages containing sugar, ghee, pulses and other daily use items were distributed by UWT in collaboration with a non-governmental organisation of the United Kingdom, Isaar international, among 500 flood-affected families in Sardaryab in Charsadda. The UWT, he maintained, had so far distributed food packages among 25,000 families and was providing medical treatment to flood affectees.

    Maulana Idrees said that they would distribute food packages among 50,000 families in the first phase and construct houses for 10,000 survivors in their respective areas in the second phase.
