Pakistan Railways to provide land for hospital

    RAWALPINDI - Federal Minister for Railways Sh. Rashid Ahmad said that Pakistan Railways would provide land for construction of a hospital to Ummah Welfare Trust (UWT) a social welfare organisation providing quality health facilities to masses.

    Sh. Rashid Ahmad was talking to the Coordinator UWT Mohammad Anayatullah and President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Jalil Ahmad Malik here on Sunday morning.

    Federal Minister for Railways Sh. Rashid Ahmad said that Government was committed to the welfare of the masses and provision of quality health cover to all was on top of the list.

    He admitted that Government alone could not achieve the target of health cover for all and appreciated the contribution of private sector especially Non-Governmental Organisations in this connection.

    He said that Government was working on the policy of public private partnership and was forthcoming in its support to the civil society organisations which were contributing toward the Government policy of health cover for all.

    Counting his contribution toward the education sector Federal Minister for Railways said that he had set-up 50 educational institutions in the city including a first women university of the country in Rawalpindi.

    He said that in a short span of time they had brought marked change in the educational facilities in the city and made Rawalpindi a real seat of knowledge and learning which was education wise on the top in the country.

    He said that now they have achieved the desired targets in education sector and have shifted their focus on health facilities.He said that it was his desire to see each and every citizen of Rawalpindi to have a proper health cover and hoped that in next few years them would transform their dream into reality.

    He informed the Coordinator of UWT Mohammad Anayatullah that they were in the process of establishing a state of the art ‘Mother and Child’ hospital in Rawalpindi with the latest health facilities and a capacity of 500 beds.

    He further informed that they were also in the process of upgrading the existing health facilities in the city and hoped that the targets in health sector would also be met in next few years.

    President RCCI Jalil Ahmad Malik assured all help to Federal Minister for Railways Sh. Rashid Ahmad on part of business community of Rawalpindi and said that they were contributing toward the welfare of the people of this region and would continue to dispense their social and moral duties for the overall betterment of the city.
