A New School Bus in Rajasthan

Idara -E- Dawatul Haq is an old madrasah in the dusty town of Oontra, Rajasthan, India. The madrassah teaches over 1,000 boys and girls, who come from mostly impoverished families.

Until recently many students residing further away would travel to the madrasah by public transport. Unfortunately transport here was expensive, unreliable, and even dangerous - especially for girls.

Some students resorted to pooling funds and travelling on private auto-rickshaws. These would become overcrowded however, leading to accidents and injuries.

Alhamdulillah, Ummah Welfare Trust recently ameliorated the situation by purchasing a minibus for the madrassah to pick up children from nine villages.

The bus today transports around 80 students, travelling almost 100km a day to take them to and from school. Alhamdulillah, the students, who are mostly girls, can now learn their Islam free from dangerous and expensive trips.

May Allah protect these, and all students across Ummah, who travel long distances to learn the religion. Ameen.
