Supporting Schools in Ghouta, Damascus

For the past two years Ummah Welfare Trust has been supporting two primary schools in the besieged Damascus suburb of Ghouta. Al Risaalah School and Al Nour School have both been refurbished and today provide free primary education to over 700 children.

The schools also provide free meals and psychological support - lifelines for many of these children living under a nightmarish siege where necessities such as food, water, medicines and fuel have been denied to them.

The war means that at least two million Syrian children have not attended school for three years now. Subsidising schools like these is vital therefore if a generation of children are not to miss out on a formal education.

Ummah Welfare Trust asks Allah to raise and protect these children, and be the means of restoring Syria to its former glory. Ameen.
