Landslides in Afghanistan - Emergency Appeal

    Syrian Children

Torrential rains in Afghanistan have triggered devastating landslides in the North Eastern province of Badakhshan. Destroying everything in their path, the landslides have killed hundreds of people and decimated thousands of mud-brick homes.

Parts of Badakhshan are now submerged under mud nearly 30 metres deep. Many of the dead lay inaccessible, forcing grieving families to leave the scenes of devastation as mass graves.

Ummah Welfare Trust's first relief efforts began in Afghanistan in 2001. Indeed it was the suffering in the country that prompted the formation of the charity.

Alhamdulillah millions of pounds have been spent since, with support being provided to countless widowed, orphaned and impoverished families.

The charity has now launched an emergency appeal for the disaster-victims in Badakhshan. With your help, dry food packs will be provided to thousands of displaced families in the province.

Zakah, Sadaqah and Lillah can be given for this appeal. Please donate what you can and support our beloved brothers and sisters in Afghanistan.
