Someone Have an Islamic Burial
In some countries, the simple sheet to cover the
deceased can no longer be afforded. UWT has initiated the burial
project in Burma to provide the deceased a respectful departure in
accordance with the Islamic principles. The burial of one person
costs £40 and this includes purchase of land, transportation,
certification, and other necessary requirements.
Islam lays importance in
maintaining the dignity of the deceased. This, it has deemed a
communal responsibility. Even in the laws of inheritance, if the
shroud for burial cannot be bought from the deceased's own estate,
it is to be provided for by the next of kin. If they cannot afford
it, the responsibility falls upon the Muslim treasury (from the
collective donations of the community).
The
Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) has given instruction, "Wear
white cloth and bury your dead in white. Indeed white clothing is (a
symbol of) purity and blessedness."
