Latest Sadaqah Jariyah Masjid ProjectsThe
devastating earthquake that struck Pakistan in 2005 destroyed
approximately 500 Masajid throughout the whole area. Ummah Welfare
Trust Took this blessed opportunity to provide the displaced people
with Masajid so that their spiritual well being can be sustained.
UWT has to date constructed 26 Masajid in various locations.
The following Masajid projects are available, you can
take on this project yourself if you have the capital or if you are
an organisation you could take on this project and raise funds to
build a Masjid costing £10,000 each. To donate or raise funds

1) Jame Masjid Syed Ahmad Shaheed, Balakot, Pakistan
Introduction
This Masjid was completely destroyed in the water flood of 1992 and
secondly in the Earthquake that took place on 8th of October, 2005.
The Masjid is in the Main Bazar of Balakot. The
Balakot Bazar consists of more then one thousand shops. Along with
this, the populations of the Bazar (There are some Mohallah in the
Main Bazar) pray in this Masjid. As Balakot is Tehsil Headquarters
and is in the center of the surrounding areas, people from the Hill
tops came to do their shopping during the day. People from distant
areas come to pray the Jummah, almost 1000 to 1200 people come and
due to insufficient Musallah space, they have to pray on the roads
and in between the market stalls. When it rains, people are forced to
pray outside in the pouring rain.
Location
It is situated in the Main Bazar of the Balakot, near the river.
History (Situation Before)
Before the 1992 flood it was a three storied building which was
completely taken away by the River Kunhar. After this the people of
Balakot and many other Muslims helped to construct the Masjid again.
Before the earthquake struck it was constructed again and it was a
three storied building but was not completely finished. The Masjid
was completely Shaheed in the disastrous Earthquake of 2005.
Situation Now:
After the earthquake prayer was done in tents and shelters. People
are still praying in these tents and makeshift shelters.

2. Jame Masjid in Madressa Taleem ul Quran, Bagh, Kashmir
Introduction
This Masjid is located within the grounds of a big Madressa called
Madressa Taleem-ul-Quran. The Masjid was demolished in the
earthquake of 2005. The Masjid was replaced by temporary shelters
and tents for prayer purposes. Work has been started on the Madressa
by teachers and students of the Madressa but a further £10,000 is
urgently required to complete it.
Location
It is situated in Kashmir in the district of Bagh. It is present in
the main city.
History
Before the earth quake it accommodated the students of the Madressa,
but after the earth quake it was damaged to such an extent that it
was not being utilized by the Talib-e-Ilim, due to it being such a
dangerous place.
Current Situation
After the earth quake they were praying in the shelters or tents,
but now they have started the Masjid work by themselves

3. New Masjid in the Lohar Banda (Mansehra), Pakistan
Introduction
This Masjid will be situated in a new location. The Masjid is for people
that have migrated here. The majority of the people have been
migrating from many different areas to this location. The people
have moved to this new location due to them being the victims of the
Earthquake that took place in October 2005. About forty to fifty
families have been transferred to this location with others who have
been living here for a very long time. A large number of
families who are Afghani Refugees are also here. This Masjid will
be located alongside the main road of Mansehra to Gilgit and China.
Location
It is situated in District Mansehra. The village name is Lohar
Banda. It is about half kilometer away from the main Chowk of the
Lohar Banda.
History (situation before)
There were no Masjid here before but due to an ever increasing
population of people from the Earthquake zone and Afghani refugees
the need for a big Masjid has been identified.
Current Situation
The people are praying in smaller Masajid in periphery of their
area.

4. Masjid in the Mohamand Agency, Pakistan
Introduction
The Masjid is in the Mohamand Agency (Tribal Area of Pakistan).
People are very poor. They are not in a position to rebuild the
Masjid. There are about 200 people who come to pray each of the
daily five day prayers.
Location
This Masjid is in Village Molia Nomandi, Post office Ghalnai, Tehsil
Haleem Zai, Mohamand Agency.
History
The current Masjid is in a very dangerous condition. The Masjid has
a capacity for only 100-120 people. Whilst, at any one prayer there
are about two hundred people. On the Friday Jummah prayers or on Eid
prayers the number of the people increases to 400 - 500 people. Most
people have to stand outside the Masjid with the sky as their roof
under all weather conditions. The Masjid doesn’t have suitable
facilities to provide water for Wudhu.
Current Situation
The people are praying in an old & damaged Masjid.

5. Masjid in Jaganat Sawabi
Introduction
The Masjid is in Sawabi. The Masjid is in a village where the
population is about fifty to sixty houses. Alongside this population
there is also a Madressa situated in this village.
Location
This Masjid is in the Village Jaganat in the Sawabi district.
History
The people of the area now pray in the temporary Masjid near the
Madressa. And also the Talib-e-Alim of the Madressa pray over here.
Current Situation
The people are praying in these temporary settings

6. Masjid in Nawaa Gai Bunir, Pakistan
Introduction
The Masjid is in Bunir. The Masjid is in this village where the
population is about hundred to one hundred twenty houses. Along with
this there is also big Madressa where student recieve religious
education.

This Masjid is in the Village Nawaa Gai in the Bunir district.
History
The people of the area now pray in the temporary Masjid near by the
Madressa. And also the Talib-e-Alim of the Madressa pray over there.
The Masjid is under construction.
Current Situation
The people are praying in temporary settings.
